Why don’t we just stop ordering pourable pink chlorhexidine into hospitals?

Unfortunately hospital staff responsible for ordering substances are often unaware of front line issues. We’re trying to make them aware so they don’t order pourable pink chlorhexidine – but as you can imagine there’s numerous hospitals throughout Australia and the rest of the world. Even if we could get the message to all of them, staff change with time and the message is lost.

In Australia only the TGA have the capacity to ban indistinct pourable chlorhexidine. You can provide support for them to do this by signing this petition (click here) which goes directly to the TGA, other regulating bodies, and manufacturers.
